Florida Home Buyers and Investors Blog New Yankee and Mets Stadiums April 17th, 2009 11:03 AM OK, I just have to comment.  Am I the only one who is wondering WHY? New York needs two, Billion Dollar stadiums? I guess the people of New York are imune from recession and living in dreamworld while the rest of the country is in the tank. I hope all the tax payers of NY who subsidized the construction enjoy their new monuments to stupidity. Here is what you paid just for Yankee Stadium: Public financing: $220 million from New York City for parking facilities ($75 million), parkland along the waterfront ($135 million) and other work related to the stadium.
